Casey Edwards Obituary
Casey Nelson Edwards passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at the age of 47. He was born on February 13, 1978 to Nelson and Aileen Edwards in Newport News, VA.
His hands were skilled and he had a passion for playing music and fixing cars. He was a man who dedicated his life to his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Audra Marie York-Edwards, daughters Kanya Lang (Hallie) and Eve Chasse; son Joel York Spears (Rachel); grandchildren, Lucas Lang, Aspen Little and Harper Spears; father Nelson Decator Edwards; brothers Steve Edwards (Beth), Mark Edwards, Joseph Edwards (Stefaine), Albert Edwards (JoAnn), James Donaldson and John Edwards (Sierra); sisters Jeannett Banks (Randy), Diane Donaldson, Shelly Watko (Michael) and Stephanie Cornett (Justin).
Casey was predeceased by his mother, Aileen Gwaltney Edwards and his brother, Patrick Elido Edwards, both of whom he held close in his heart throughout his life.
A funeral service will be held to honor Casey’s life on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM, at Bethany United Methodist Church located at 13717 Bethany Church Rd, Smithfield, VA 23430. Friends and family are invited to gather to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a remarkable individual who will be dearly missed.
