Casey Michael Montoya IV

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Casey Michael Montoya IV, 33, of La Puebla, NM, He passed away on January 30, 2026. 

Casey was born on March 18, 1992, to Michelle M. Pacheco and Casey M. Montoya 3rd in Espanola, NM.Casey loved collecting rocks since he was a little boy, he loved traveling, he loved going snowboarding, he loved to cook, he loved animals especially his dog Shelby and he loved going fishing. Casey was also a great salesman since he was a kid, infact his last job was selling solar panels in Albuquerque which he loved doing right before his passing, other Jobs he had was Smiths La, YouthWorks, Santa Fe Ski Base, Lotaburger, Starbucks. Casey didn't have not one mean bone in his body. Casey was like a big teddy bear he had such a loving, caring, giving soul and was so respectful to everyone including those who didn't deserve his respect. Casey was a person who didn't judge anyone not even when the person was at their lowest in life and if he could be there to help you in anyway you needed he'd find a way to help you. Casey was a person that would take his shirt off his back if he could help someone out. Casey will be greatly missed by his family and many others.

Lopez Silver City, NM,; paternal grandparents Casey Montoya Jr. of La Puebla and Bernie Montoya of Santa Fe, NM; Kelly Archuleta of Medenales (grandpa), Gerry Wright (grandpa) Grand Junction, Co., Uncles Albert Diaz, Carlos, Dennis, Leroy and Gilbert Sherwood of Chimayo, NM, ; aunts Lorie C. Pacheco Torres of Los Alamos, NM, Patty Sherwood of Chimayo, NM, Erma Montoya of Delta, CO.; Cousins Kevin Romero, Robert Trujillo, Albert Diaz, Michael Sherwood, and Urban Quintana.He is survived by his mother Michelle M. Pacheco Lopez (stepfather Mark A. Herrera) La Puebla,; maternal grandparents Judith Sherwood Chimayo, NM and Ted F. Pacheco of Albuquerque, NM,; Nick Nelson (grandpa) La Puebla, NM,; Uncles, Theodore Angelo Pacheco (Nino), Sonny Diaz (Marian), Wayne, Albert, and Sammy Sherwood,; Aunts, Frances Roybal, Mary Romero (Isaac), Yolanda Baca (Roberto "Berdo"), Geraldine Heft (Dave), Debbie Sherwood (Nina), Della Sherwood, Corine Sherwood Mtz. (Jerry Mtz.); Cousins, Angelina Pacheco, Micheal Pacheco, Robert and Isaac Torres, Reyna Baca, Andres Baca, Joaquin Baca, Cruz Baca, Jasmine Heft, Joshua Heft, Jessa Heft, ReAnn Roybal, Tamara Romero, Raquel Romero, Isaac Romero Jr, Alexandra Sherwood (Daniel), Jerry Mtz (Gina), Roberta War (Jimmy), and numerous cousins and other relatives.

Services will be on February 16, 2026 at 10:00am at the Rock Christian Fellowship in Espanola.
