Casey Nix Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 2, 2011.
Casey P. "Squeeky" Nix, age 18, of Chilton, died on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. She was born September 14, 1992 in Neenah, daughter of Kenneth Nix and Cheryl (Bowe) Schmidt. Casey attended Chilton and Hilbert Elementary Schools, Lincoln Elementary and Franklin Middle Schools in Green Bay, and Green Bay West High School. In her short 18 years on this earth, Casey managed to inspire anyone who was graced with her presence. Her determination, unconditional love, infectious giggle, and unveiled eyes were a true testament of God's love. Casey loved to watch the Lion King, and on occasion, watched it several times a day. She loved to watch Simba kiss Nala, even after seeing it for the millionth time. Casey especially enjoyed watching the Lion King on the purple chair with her youngest Saldona sister, Peyton, and when Peyton would give her a kiss on the cheek. She loved eating peaches and cream oatmeal, not maple and brown sugar, for breakfast and lying in bed with her Saldona sisters at her feet and dancing with them to the music at the 4th of July. Casey was and will continue to be loved by the masses. She will now be our angel in heaven as she was on earth, only now she will whisper in our ear and walk next to us as the Lord intended. Survivors include her mother: Cheryl & Russell Schmidt of Chilton; her father: Kenneth Nix of Milwaukee; maternal grandmother: Dorothy Bowe of Hilbert, paternal grandparents: Tom & Patsy Nix of Colorado; foster parents: Abel & SanJuanita Saldana of Green Bay; a brother: Cody Nix; 2 sisters: Donnie (Todd) Bartley-Bunnell, Andrea Bartley and special friend, Bucky; foster sisters: Alexis, Isabella, & Peyton; and 2 nieces and a nephew: Sidney, Gracey, & Alex. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Donald Bowe. Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul with the Rev. Tim Benninghoff officiating. Friends may call at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:45 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2011.
