Caterina (Profiti) DeFina, 92, of Natrona Heights, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Concordia in Cabot with her daughter at her side. She was born August 5, 1932 in S Onofrio, Italy CZ, to the late Francesco and Rosaria (Lapreiato) Profiti. Caterina immigrated to the United States with her two small children to meet up with her husband who had immigrated earlier to start a new life for his family. Caterina worked as a seamstress for the Hat and Cap Company and also did work for her family and friends. She was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Natrona Heights Campus. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting, crocheting and her dog "Rex". Most important to her were Sunday family meals and the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Caterina is survived by her daughter, Sara (Terry) Abraham, of Natrona Heights, grandchildren, Caterina (Don) Zalewski, Cristina (Matt) Williams and Joseph (Allison) Abraham and her great grandchildren, Liliana and Izabella Zalewski, Fabiana, Bianca, Santino & Sophia Williams and Giuseppina Spataro. In addition to her parents, Caterina was preceded in death by her husband, Giuseppe DeFina on July 16, 1987, daughter, M. Josephine Spataro, granddaughter, Mimma Spataro and by her brothers, Domenico and Nicola Profiti.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, July 7, 2025 in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Entombment followed in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
