Cathrine Andrade, age 87, of Taunton, MA, passed away peacefully on February 9th at Brockton Post Acute Care surrounded by love. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband John Andrade, parents Manuel and Josephine Rose and step mother,
Margaret Rose, sisters Margaret Bourget and Emily Silva and brother Manual Rose Jr.
Catherine was born on February 10th, 1938 in Raynham, MA and then settled down in Taunton, MA where she raised her family. She was a long time employee of Weir Pharmacy and a dedicated Art’s International and Dunkin’ Donuts regular. Catherine enjoyed going on cruises, playing bocce, cooking for her family, reading books and spending time with her great grandchildren who always brought the biggest smile to her face. Her legacy of independence lives on in the children and grandchildren she raised to be just as spirited as she was.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Susan Sanson of Taunton and her sons John Andrade, and wife Karen, of Taunton, and Paul Andrade and wife Cindy of Grand Forks, ND. Catherine also leaves behind grandchildren Lauren Morris, and her husband Keith, Christopher Sanson, and his wife Jessica, Jonathan Andrade, and his wife Ellen, Justin Andrade, Maxx Andrade, and Brody Andrade, as well as three great grandsons Keagen and Harrison Morris and Braxton Andrade.
Catherine will be remembered by all those who knew her as a strong-willed and outspoken woman who lived life on her own terms until the very end, always reminding us to stand up for ourselves.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 25,2026 from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
