It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine M. Brady, beloved wife of James V. Brady, on December 12, 2025. Cathy and Jim shared an extraordinary life together, marked by 56 years of love, partnership, and devotion to family. Together, Cathy and Jim created a beautiful family and a lifetime of treasured moments, from their home in Drexel Hill to summers in Sea Isle City, NJ where they enjoyed time together and with friends at the Sea Isle Yacht Club, and winters in Naples, FL to escape the cold.
Born September 17, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, Cathy will be remembered as a caring, generous, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose thoughtfulness and unwavering work ethic touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Cathy had a long and successful career with Bell Atlantic, later Verizon, forming lasting friendships with colleagues from Boston to Virginia. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Dorothy’s in Drexel Hill and, for the past eleven years, a cherished member of the St. Patrick’s community in Malvern. Her Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found comfort and companionship in her Rosary group.
Above all, Cathy adored her family. Known affectionately as “mom-mom,” she nurtured deep, individual connections with each of her eight grandchildren. Time spent together at the family’s beloved beach house on 71st Street in Sea Isle City was especially meaningful, filled with joy, laughter, and memories that will be treasured for generations. She also cherished family traditions, including her beloved annual Christmas “cookie day,” a tradition that began with her mother and continued with her daughters and grandchildren.
Cathy is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Brady; her daughters Kathleen DeAmicis (Norm), Janet Hnat (Corey), and Maureen Martini (Jeff); her eight beautiful grandchildren—Andrew, Justin, Matthew, Connor, Alexa, Molly, Eva, and Gabi; her sisters Peggy Quirk (Chollie) and Debbie Moore (Greg); and her nephew, CJ, and niece, Liz. She is preceded in death by her parents, including her beloved mother, Cass.
The love, strength, and values Cathy instilled in her family will continue to guide them throughout their lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to Catherine’s visitation on December 20, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 104 Channing Ave, Malvern, PA, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment private.
Catherine will be remembered lovingly by all who were blessed to know her.
