Catherine Virginia Capps, 77, of Angier, was called home to the arms of our Lord on January 13, 2026. Born on March 8, 1948 in Potsdam, New York to the late Andrew and Audrey Gardner, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her brother, Tommy

She is survived by her devoted husband of over 50 years, Bobby Ray Capps; her son, Chris Capps; daughter, Debra Dillo; cherished grandchildren, Christopher Capps, Maloree Capps, Jake Dillo, Ethan Dillo, Griffin Dillo, and Owen Dillo; and precious great-grandchildren Penelope Capps, Saelor Williams, and Grayson Williams.
"Catherine, who was known to us as Nana, lived a full life of love and prosperity. Her house always stayed a wonderland of imagination and adventure; it was where we could escape the pressures of our parents and our lives. From sitting down to watch Smallville with an ice cream in hand to riding on the golf cart down to the pond, she always made us feel like we were the center of her world. She accepted all of us at our highest and lowest. We could turn to her in times of pain, and she always knew what to say. Nana might be gone now, but when life gets overwhelming, she will be there waiting for us in our hearts."
