Catherine Clouse Obituary

Catherine Mary "Kate" Clouse

Apr 16, 1928 - Dec 2, 2025

Norwalk

Catherine "Kate" Mary Clouse, 97, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday evening, December 2, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born April 16, 1928, in Huron, to the late Joseph and Ada Rose (Good) Leimeister. She was a 1946 graduate of Berlin Heights High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She worked for the former General Telephone for 12 years, Fanny Farmer Chocolate, cleaning at St. Paul's church, rectory and custodian for St. Paul schools, and was a Norwalk City School bus driver for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed going on trips with her sisters, quilting, swimming and aquanastics. She always enjoyed being with her family and doing things for others. Many family and friends were given blankets for special occasions that she made for them, as well as hangers. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together. Anyone who came to her house never left with an empty stomach. She was a wonderful cook and baker. If you ever asked for a recipe, she would say a little of this and some of that, no measurements required.

She is survived by her children, Marilyn Roland, Ann Schafer, Bertha (Bill Burras) Clouse, Martha Gregory, Robert (Laurie Thurston) Clouse, Norman (Sue) Clouse, Martin (Tammy) Clouse, Kevin (Lindy) Clouse, and Eric (Cindy) Clouse; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Monica Leimeister, Anthony (Virginia) Leimeister, Paul Leimeister, John (Jean) Leimeister and Danny Leimeister; and brother-in-law, Ronald (Emily) Clouse; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer R. Clouse, in 1976; daughter, Loretta Laubert; son, Kenny Clouse; granddaughter, Michelle Clouse; sons-in-law, John Roland, Dennis Schafer and Paul Gregory; great-granddaughters, Taylor Ann Alford and Leah Roland; siblings, Dorothy Fannin, Rose Fannin, Mary Moyer, Michael Leimeister, James Leimeister, Rita Roberts, Charles Leimeister, Norma Leimeister, Frank Leimeister, Theresa Wyatt, and Ruth "Whitey" Wood.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Southern Care Hospice; with their help, we were able to bring her home in her final days, where she could be surrounded by her loved ones.

Donations in her name can be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857 or Norwalk Catholic Schools.

In 1976 while pregnant with my first child I was the recipient of one of her baby quilts. My daughter will be 50 in January, her baby quilt still is in use, in her home now! We were friends at
Fanny Farmers Candies.
Kate was an absolute joy to be around. I can still hear her AMAZING laugh! RIP Kate.
