Catherine Leona DeGenero

Catherine Leona (Pehur) DeGenero (nee Andrzejewski) of Sterling Heights passed away October 19, 2025 at the age of 95.
Catherine was born on July 18, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Florence (English) Andrzejewski, the youngest and only daughter of their four children. On February 11, 1950 Catherine married Gustave Pehur; together they had six children and were married 28 years when Gustave passed away in 1978. Catherine went on to marry Frank DeGenero in 2014 and they had 3 wonderful years of marriage before he passed away in 2017. Catherine has made her home in Michigan for the last three years, but she had lived the previous twenty-five years in Arizona. She enjoyed playing pinochle and bingo, was a big fan of game shows, and enjoyed knitting in her earlier years and will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
Beloved wife of the late Gustave Pehur and the late Frank DeGenero; loving mother of Gus Pehur, Cathey Cross, Janine (the late Tom) Braum, Mary (Al) Blackwood, Michael (Renay) Pehur and Johanna Olson; adored grandmother of 17; great-grandmother of 21; and sister of 3 predeceased brothers, George (Virginia), Larry (Lois) and Jim Andrzejewski. Catherine is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Catherine's wishes were to have cremation take place, a private memorial luncheon will be at a later date. Catherine's cremated remains will be buried in Arizona.
