Catherine "Cathy" Renee Dixon, 47, born February 20th, 1978; the 4th daughter of the late William "Gary" Dixon and the late Linda Ann (Martin) Dixon.
Cathy resided in Warrensburg for 34 years, before moving to live in Warsaw after the passing of her dad in 2013. Her final move was to Columbia, to start a new, independent living. She lived there for a year and a half before her passing.
Cathy was a 1997 graduate of Warrensburg High School. During Middle School she started being the football manager and continued in that position with the High School and coach John Culp, for nearly 10 years. When Cathy had to persevere through challenges, her favorite saying was..." I'm tiger tough". And that she was. She spent many years working at McDonald's, Walmart, then Taco Bell. She ended her working career in 2013, from the Sheltered Workshop in Warrensburg. Cathy was very involved in her church, First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg. She grew up in that church and it was a great environment for her.
Cathy was a very social person, making friends wherever she went. There are not a lot of locals that don't know her. She loved that.
Another great joy for Cathy was her family. Not just her bio-family but those in her life that chose to be there. Her 2nd families and her friends. She was more blessed than most in that way.
She took pride in being "Aunt Cathy". She absolutely loved her nieces and nephews. She showed up for them whenever she could.
Cathy enjoyed spending her days at her activity center, shopping, dining out and talking on her phone. She also loved taking trips.
Surviving of the home, her four sisters; Angie (Eric) Dixon of Kansas City, Sheri Arnold of Kansas City, Heather (Chris) Montez of Warsaw, Missouri and Laura (Donald) Owen of Warrensburg, Missouri. Her niece Kelly Arnold of Kansas City; Nephews; Derek Warner, Jackson (Alison) Green of Knob Noster, Missouri, Joseph Montez of Warrensburg, Missouri, George Montez of Warsaw, Missouri, Donald and Dwayne Owen of Warrensburg, Missouri, Brooks and Brynley Weatherby, of Lincoln; 3 great-nieces, Marley Jo, Paisley and Sofia and one great-nephew, Finn.
We ask you to honor Cathy by attending her funeral on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Warrensburg, Missouri with a graveside service immediately following at the Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
