On September 29, 2023, Catherine LeCompte Dunkin, 53, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side in
Tulsa, Oklahoma. Cathy was born in Tulsa on May 13, 1970, and when the doctor delivered her, he stated she was the most beautiful baby girl he had ever delivered. Cathy was a lot like her father, John Dunkin, she didn't meet a stranger and loved being with friends and family. Cathy enjoyed a lifelong career in retail services where she did what she loved doing most- helping others. She most recently celebrated her one-year anniversary working at The Banana Republic Store in Utica Square. She enjoyed all things outdoors from riding horses and holding on to fond memories of her childhood at our family ranch, to spending time at the family's cabin, where she had a love for water skiing, spotting bald eagles, and boating. Cathy loved baking and delivering holiday surprises and treats to those who needed a little smile. There didn't have to be a reason for her to give you a little gift of joy. She had a love of giving back to others and the holidays, even the goofiest of ones, she would celebrate big. Cathy was a precious person and almost had a childlike love for being spontaneous and meeting new friends. In the words of family, she could hang with the adults and listen to whatever was being discussed but would be more excited to then would go off and say, "Ok, I'm going to go and do kid things now" because there wasn't a kids table, Cathy didn't have a blast at.
Cathy is a graduate from Edison High School and spent a brief time at Centenary College in LA. She is survived by her mother, Elisabeth Dunkin and Tulsa sisters Christy Dunkin Rawlings, Carey Dunkin Baker and Dallas sister, Courtney Dunkin Bono. She had a fun-loving relationship with her three brother-in laws Chris Rawlings, Brett Baker and Mark Bono. Cathy was an amazing, spirited Aunt to seven nieces and nephews, Megan Pense Eldridge, John Clayton Pense, Jake Dunkin Rawlings, Peyton Elisabeth Bono, Katie Grace Baker, Garrett Dunkin Bono and Gentry Abigayle Baker. She has more friends than anyone can count and an adorable cat, Hope, who has already moved to an awesome new home full of love. We will miss Cathy's spirit, her spunk, her phone calls, her stories, her glittered filled cards, her love for stickers and candy and her larger-than-life heart of gold. Rest in Peace. Roses Under Your Pillow Sweet Dreams We Love You Cathy.
