Catherine Gardes
June 13, 1959 - July 6, 2022
Catherine "Cathy" Rehnee Wickersham Gardes, 63, of Houston, Texas, ended her battle with cancer on July 6, 2022 at Memorial Hermann Hospital. Catherine was born in Salina, KS to the late Howard James "Jim" Wickersham and Laurayne Roberson.

Cathy attended John Foster Dulles High School and dedicated her life working in the oil and gas industry as an Executive Assistant for Wapiti Energy for 20 years. Cathy had many wonderful virtues as well as an infectious laugh and smile. Her hobbies included cross stitching, bead working, and home décor.

Cathy is survived by sister, Linda Wickersham of Houston TX, stepmother Joan Wickersham of Pearland TX, stepbrother David Sweeney of Houston TX, stepsister Michelle Sweeney of Houston TX, niece Jessica Sweeney of Houston TX, nephew Justin Wicker and spouse Mary Catherine Wicker of Elon NC, and great nieces Ava and Charlotte Wicker of Elon, NC.

The family would like to thank Cathy's friends at Wapiti Energy and neighbors in her townhome community for the thoughts, prayers and many years of friendship. A special thanks as well to the doctors and staff of Memorial Hermann Hospital for the around the clock care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Houston SPCA.
