Catherine Hanley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fairmount Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory from Dec. 30 to Dec. 31, 2025.
Catherine Jo Hanley, age 81, of Franktown, Colorado, passed away on December 23, 2025.
Catherine was born on March 21, 1944, in Denver, Colorado, and spent her life caring deeply for others. Known to most as Cathy, she had a natural gift for nurturing that showed both in her family life and in her career. She worked for many years as a registered nurse in Mother–Baby care, where she helped welcome countless newborns into the world and supported new mothers with compassion and love.
Cathy's family was always her greatest joy and priority. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother who found happiness in time spent together, everyday moments, and shared traditions. Her love for her family was unconditional.
Cathy was also a die-hard Denver Broncos fan and truly never missed a game. Sundays were sacred, and she cheered faithfully through every season. It was a good day when they won, but sometimes she was a little grumpy when they lost and maybe a little critical of the referees.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, William Hanley; her daughters, Andrea Holle (Michael Holle) and Cindy Hanley (Doug Hanley); her son, Joe Hanley (Atsuko Hanley); and her beloved grandchildren, Emma Holle, Jessica Holle, Rachel Holle, Keaton Hanley, and Siena Hanley, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Naomi and Arthur Plucheck; her twin sister, Carol Russell; her brother, Dwayne Plucheck; and her older sister, Barbara Plucheck.
A service will be held on Saturday, January 3, at Fairmont Cemetery, located at 430 S. Quebec Street, Denver, CO 80247. A viewing will take place from 12:00–1:00 p.m., followed by the service from 1:00–2:00 p.m. A reception will follow from 2:00–4:00 p.m.
Catherine will be remembered for her gentle strength, her caring hands, her unwavering devotion to those she loved, and the quiet ways she made life better for everyone around her. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Catherine, please visit our floral store.
