Catherine M. "Kitty" Heebner, 80, of Red Hill, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the comfort of her home where she resided with her granddaughter, Mary, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Karl L. Heebner Sr. with whom she spent 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2016.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Dougherty) Higgins.
After graduating from Bishop Kenrick High School, Kitty pursued a career in nursing and graduated from Philadelphia General Hospital Nursing School. Throughout her life she enjoyed being a homemaker and nurse.
A woman of strong devotion, she was longtime member of St. Philip Neri Church in Pennsburg where she served as an altar server. Her relationship with Christ was an integral part of her life. She always said the Sacred Heart was her best friend. Her devotion to her Christian beliefs was reflected in her daily life which she instilled in her eight children. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family.
She will be deeply missed by her eight children: Gretchen Brosius (Wade), Katrina Elitz (Bryan), Heidi Timins (Bob Welch), Kristin Heebner, Erika Smith (Dave), Karl Heebner Jr., Johanna Pocius (Jeff), and Victoria Waldman (Kevin); nineteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at St. Philip Neri Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, 2400 DeKalb St, Norristown, PA 19401. A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. at church. Arrangements are by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
