Catherine M. Kurilla, formerly Rickrode, passed away on November 13, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio. Born on July 30, 1960, in Landstuhl, West Germany, Catherine was a beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished her family above all else.
Catherine was married to her devoted husband, John Kurilla, for 28.5 years. Together, they created a home filled with love and warmth. She was a compassionate step-mother to Robert (LeeAnne) Kurilla and Lindsay Kurilla, and her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Jordyn, Emma, and Emmett, who brought her immense joy.
In addition to her immediate family, Catherine is survived by her sisters, Stephanie (Fred) Stanifer, Diane (Joe) Basile, and Mary Rickrode, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who held a special place in her heart.
Catherine will be fondly remembered for her love of reading and her passionate dedication to her family. Her nurturing spirit and infectious enthusiasm will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Dale and Jean Rickrode, who provided a foundation of strength and love that shaped the remarkable woman she became. Catherine's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends as a testament to a life well-lived and filled with love.
