Catherine J. McDonnell

Catherine J. McDonnell, of Montgomery, NY formerly of Brooklyn, NY passed away peacefully at Kaplan Hospice Center on May 26, 2022. She was 89 years old. She was born to the late Joseph Tesoro and Catherine Barrett in Brooklyn, NY. Catherine was an account manager for JP Morgan, Chase in Manhattan, NY. She was an active member of St. Pius X Guild and Altar Society at St. Jerome's Parish as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus in Brooklyn, NY. She was also a Girl Scout Troop Leader for many years. Catherine was an avid reader and loved to travel. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by daughters Catherine A. Smallman (Arthur) of Millsboro, DE; Theresa E. Lennon (Donald) of Montgomery, NY; son Michael J. McDonnell (Randi) of Manalapan, NJ; daughter Ann Marie Santos (Stephen Stroh) of Staten Island; 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Louis Tesoro, Michael Tesoro, Mark Tesoro and sister Eileen Wilson, and one grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 31, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc., 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY 12586.
Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday June 1, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Holy Name of Mary-Assumption, 89 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549.
Cremation Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.
Interment of her ashes will be held at a later date with her family in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
