to Cathy's family, Today as my phone rang I checked to see the caller noting it was my life long friend Jim Knox. We have been friends since the age of 13. Now Jim and I usually only call each other on our birthdays. I knew this wasn´t going to be an easy call because his sister Cathy has been very ill for some time. This was the call I dreaded as it continued ringing. I answered, Jim was very upset as he explained Cathy had passed this morning. With great difficulty I contained my emotion, after all she was family to me.
Cathy was as sweet as she was cute. However she was no pushover as Jim and I occasionally found our selves on her wrong side while teasing her about something. However it was always short lived. Cathy and her mom were very close as they sometimes seemed more like sisters then mother/daughter to me. I remember like clockwork every Saturday they had their hair done. Jim and I were sitting on the porch one Saturday as they returned. Returning from the salon one day Cathy and her mom approached laughing as her mom said that someone thought they were sisters. They were so over joyed with laughter they could hardly talk. Well! I think that morning they did look like and definitely act like sisters.
Alhough I left the area when I was a young adult I always kept in touch with and visited the family when I could. The Knox family has always been and will always be near and dear to my heart. Jim and Danny are like brothers to me. Cathy will always be the sister I never had.

Vince,
So sorry to hear about your wife's passing. Heaven is happy to receive her among all of the friends, especially "Tom O". He will welcome her with open arms and his great big heart. He loved being involved in the Parade Committee and the Hibernians and participating in the parade and all of the other activities. I'm glad to have known Cathy and worked with her getting facility stuff done for Nottingham. God bless you and your family during this time.

I am sick about this. In a previous life, I knew her as "aunt" Cathy. She and my mother were very close until her death in 1968. I have missed her for 57 years and I suppose I always will. Rest in peace, aunt Cathy. If there is an afterlife, I am sure you and mom are back in contact again. I love you.
