Catherine Patricia Perkins, born on July 8, 1942, in Centre Barnstead, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her residence in, Orlando, Florida, on September 1, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life dedicated to her family and community, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by those who knew her.
Catherine was the beloved wife of the late Lundy Perkins and a devoted mother to her children: Ronald West, Robert West, Kenneth West, William West, James West, and Patricia West. She was also a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her nurturing spirit and kindness created bonds that will last for generations.
Catherine is survived by her children Ronald West, Robert West, Kenneth West, and Patricia West, as well as 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, Catherine is also survived by her siblings: Joyce Avery and Calvin Morris and her niece, Lisa Matthews, who shared many treasured moments with her.
Catherine was preceded in death by several cherished family members, including her spouse Lundy Perkins, her sons William Wade West and James West; her father Earl Morris; her mother Belle Bartlett Tooley; and her siblings Kenneth Morris, Earline Matthews, Carl Morris, Earl Morris, Jean Kies, Mae Jacobs, and Ella Bellins. Each played an important role in her life and continue to be remembered with love.
For those wishing to pay their respects, a visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in East Orlando on September 6, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Catherine will be laid to rest at a graveside service at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando, taking place at 3:00 PM that same day.
Catherine Patricia Perkins will be dearly missed by her family and friends, whose lives she touched with her warmth and unwavering support. As we gather to honor her memory, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose love and kindness will resonate in our hearts forever.
