MECHANICSBURG – Catherine "Irene" Royster, 92 of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025 in Miami Valley Hospital.
Irene was born on Feb. 22, 1933 in Mechanicsburg to the late John and Elva (Mayo) Anderson.
Following graduation from high school, Irene would go on to work for many years as a cook across many of the local restaurants in Champaign County. In her free time, Irene was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds, and loved watching the RFD Channel as well. She was also an avid listener of all things Elvis Presley and country music. Most of all, however, Irene found her greatest moments of love and joy in watching and supporting her family.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Roger) Gibson and Marilyn (Mark) Eades; sons, Rick Royster and Ron Royster; grandchildren, Kurt, Michael (Sara), Brandy (Dnis), Jonathan (Julia), Annie (Kenny), and Abby (Cody), Mark and Todd; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Aria, Mya, Donovan, Millie, Maverick, Spencer, Eisley, McKenzie, Khloe, Delaney, Josie, and Alex; and a sister, Debbie (Robert) Aranda.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Diana Jenkins; a brother, Kenneth "Beef" Anderson; a nephew, Chris Aranda as well as two beloved dogs, Buddy and King.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025 in SKILLMAN-MCDONALD-VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025 in the funeral home with Jim Mayo officiating.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
