Catherine Ann Schuller 1951-2025

Catherine Ann Russell/Schuller was born in Kansas City, Missouri in January 11th, 1951. Her father George Arthur Compton and mother Dell Nadine Dorflinger and family of 9 other siblings she was 5th of kin. She grew up and lived her teens in Long Beach and graduated from Jordan High school.

The Chatty Cathy doll resembled Cathy as her younger years were very notable. She was a good student and sang in the church choir. She was too short to reach the cabinets or to do the dishes. She did become quite an amazing cook and Mexican was her families favorite. She was very quiet and just wanted to be loved for who she was.

Cathy was very tiny and had an amazing singing voice. At 4'10" she packed powerful strength both vocally and physically as a parent to keep her 3 boys Peter, Andrew and Mathew Russell under protection and disciplined well into their teens. She was strong in her faith on Jesus her Lord and Savior and sang at many churches, and talked about God Continually. Courtney her youngest was 20 years behind her oldest child Peter and was her first and only daughter. She loved her family and always wanted more time with them as much as humanly possible.

She was a nurturer in every aspect and always cared for the elderly in nursing homes as well as low income and needy people in communities. If she had anything and you needed it, she would have given it to you without hesitation. Her 2 oldest sons spent many days at nursing homes and singing for the folks to enlighten their days when they we younger and learn how to also be caring and sympathetic to the ones in need.

In the small town of Ritzville Washington where she started living weeks after her marriage with David Michael Russell having her first son Peter to a drunk doctor in Odessa, her middle son Andrew and her youngest son Matthew where she almost received the wrong blood type, where fortunately her husband caught the faulty paperwork as they were attempting to give her blood.

Cathy loved mingling and discussing her life with others and she got to learn almost everything about people as she was very concerned about every detail. This was both good and bad, however she was full of love and kindness and very hard working wanting to help everyone. She started dental assisting while in Ritzville to provide extra income for the family. She took very well to the industry and stayed in dental until her retirement. She loved making all things spotless and clean.

Cathy had a second family of her latter husband Mike Schuller and his Son and daughters where her daughter Courtney was raised primarily in Chewelah Washington. She spent many times and hours reaching out to the elderly and spent many days with church activities and there having many walks and talks with neighbors and other women who needed conversation and friendship.

Cathy is survived by her four children, and fourteen beautiful grandchildren.

Cathy passed peacefully on Monday, October 20th, 2025 while she slept, after having had 4-5 years of dementia in the small town of Chewelah under the care of her latter husband Mike Schuller. May her soul rest forever with the Lord Jesus, Amen.
