Catherine W Simmons

On January 21st, 2025, Catherine ("Cathi") Wilson Simmons died of natural causes. A former resident of Taylor St., Chevy Chase, MD she went to Blessed Sacrament School, Georgetown Visitation, then St. Louis College for the Arts. She lived in CA for nine years, then came back to MD. and served as a coach for the "Colors Are You" program before meeting her now deceased husband, 'John Simmons', a chemist and mathematician. They both got their real estate licenses in MD before permanently moving to Washington state to run a lumber mill. They lived there for nearly thirty years. Cathi was a lover of the Arts and all things beautiful. She was an artist, a poet, a thespian, and a wonderful storyteller. She had a sparkling personality and a gift for comic relief. Her many diverse friends loved her for her generous spirit and practical spirituality. Her stepson, David Simmons, survives her, as well as her niece, Mary Lou Wilson, and her two nephews, John and Chris Wilson. Please donate to the National Endowment for the Arts or PBS in lieu of flowers.
