Catherine Rose Telesco confidently passed on to the next place, in peace, on the evening of November 8th, 2025.
She was born on September 8th, 1957 in Stamford, CT, the firstborn of William R. Telesco and the late Anita Bruce Telesco. She graduated from Westhill High School and received a nursing certification from J.M. Wright Technical School.
Catherine's career as a nurse spanned decades in nursing homes across Fairfield County, often specializing in dementia units. Her patients were recipients of limitless empathy, steadfast care, and a buoyantly transgressive sense of humor that could alleviate any pain or sorrow. She was a friend to the underdogs, the outcasts, the downtrodden, the misunderstood, and the weirdos. She extended this friendship to every living creature, affording animals the same compassion and respect.
Paramount in Catherine's life was her son, Jeffrey, her love of whom was awesome in the most literal sense of the word. She was a consummate big sister to her four siblings and the archetypal cool aunt to their children. She would have been a loving partner to her dream man, Abraham Lincoln, had she not been born in the wrong century (with apologies to Mary Todd). She adored The Beatles. She made a mean grilled cheese sandwich. She yearned for the utopian future of Star Trek and worked, for her part, to make it a reality. Her Christian faith was quiet, enduring, and rooted in universal love and acceptance.
Catherine is survived by her son, Jeffrey Telesco, her father, William R. Telesco, her brother, William Telesco, and his wife Laurie, her sister, Bonnie Blank, and her husband, David, her sister, Laura Telesco Ryan, her brother, Tom Telesco, and his wife, Jill.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, November 23rd, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT, to celebrate Catherine's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, or City Harvest.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Apple Rehab in West Haven, CT for your care of Catherine in her final years. She was one of you. You are carrying on her legacy.

"I hope that you will find all of the peace and love that there is in the world, and do something positive about what's not right. I think we all have an obligation to help, even in some small way. I will try to show you how much love can work in your favor, and reassure you when all seems lost. The world can be a lovely, wonderful place. I hope you find it so."

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth."
