Cathy was the oldest of eight siblings growing up on Arbroth Street in Dorchester where she made lifelong friends, especially during her days in St. Ann’s Band and at Cardinal Cushing High School. She married the love of her life, Phil, and raised their family in St. Margaret Parish, spending many nights and weekends at hockey rinks and baseball fields. Cathy was one of the proud proprietors of Deeney O’Malley’s Pub in South Boston. Later, Cathy lived in Monson, MA, making many great friends there before ultimately returning to her home in Dorchester. Cathy was loved by all and will be sadly missed by many. Her family and her friends meant everything to Cathy and nothing brought her more joy than the precious time spent with them. None more so than her two grandsons whom she affectionately referred to as “My boys”.
Family and friends will honor and remember Cathy’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
