Cathryn M. (Haley) Balek
Cathryn M. (Haley) Balek , Age 102 of Edina, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024.
Cathryn was proud of her Iron Range and Italian heritage as well as being a Public Health Nurse for the city of Minneapolis. She was a crossword puzzle enthusiast, and tennis player, she loved to read cookbooks and was known for her sense of fashion. She was a long-time active member and volunteer at Our Lady of Grace Parish. Above all, she was a loving, devoted and generous wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
Survived by son Dennis (Jantze) Haley; grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Hudson, and Nik (Valerie) Larsen; great-grandchildren: Emerson, Austen, Joseph, Lucia and Weston.
Preceded in death by husbands, James Haley, and Walter Balek; and sister Margaret Tupac.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the Church of Our Lady of Grace 5071 Eden Ave. S. Edina. Visitation 1 hour prior to mass at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Hennepin Healthcare Foundation.
