TROY - Cathy L. Ashman, 73, of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 28th, 2025, in her home.
Cathy was born on June 12, 1952, in Troy, Ohio to Albert and Betty (Halderman) Heaton. Cathy graduated from Miami East High School, Class of 1970. She went on to study at Elkhart Industry School of Dentistry, specializing in Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA). On November 27th, 1971, she married the love of her life, Randy, and together they built a strong and joyful marriage rooted in faith, commitment, and deep affection.
Cathy was a devoted member of her church community at Union Baptist Church where she attended since she was a baby. She served in many roles, including choir director, where her love of music and her beautiful voice uplifted those around her. She also faithfully helped with children's programs, sharing patience, kindness, and a genuine love for the families she served. Outside of church, Cathy found joy in simple, meaningful hobbies like singing, especially at church, gardening, baking treats for loved ones, and taking peaceful walks. More than anything, Cathy cherished time spent with her family. She especially loved attending her grandchildren's school programs and sporting events, where she was always their biggest supporter and proudest fan.
