Cathy Dawn Henderson, 72, of Jacksonville, FL died June 7, 2025 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday June 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany, GA. Rev. Chuck Knight will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
Cathy was born in Albany, GA on October 9, 1952 to the late George and Audrey Fulford. She grew up in Albany and graduated from Westover High School in 1970. Cathy attended and graduated from The University of Georgia where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She completed her education at The University of Wyoming where she received her Masters in Speech Pathology. Cathy moved to Lafayette, LA and lived there for eight years before returning to Albany, GA. She was employed with The Dougherty County School System as a Speech Pathologist for many years before retiring in 2015. Cathy moved to Jacksonville, FL in 2019 and enjoyed spending time with her children and especially her grandson, David. Cathy was a member of Porterfield Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband Ed Deane of Jacksonville, FL; her children: Lauren Henderson Doran (Chad) of Jacksonville, FL ,John Henderson ( Amelia) of Jacksonville, FL; sister: Lynda Fulford Bradwell (Sumter) of Greenville, SC; grandson: David Henderson of Jacksonville, Fl.
In lieu of flowers and memorials, those desiring may make donations in memory of Cathy to the CAA Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital: angiopathy.org/support-us.
