Cathy Joan (Swift) Keesling, 56, of New Castle passed away, Thursday, January 31, 2019 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born April 2, 1962 in Henry County to James and Vera (Ford) Swift.

A 1980 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School, Cathy was employed at Henry County ARC as a legal secretary; she then worked at Marsh, Village Pantry and Flying J Truck stop in New Castle. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where she was active in the Joy Club. She was formerly a member of New Lisbon Christian Church. Cathy enjoyed motorcycling, horseback riding and animals of all kinds.

She is survived by her husband of 33 ½ years, Eric Keesling of New Castle; son, Michael (Ashley) Keesling of Knightstown; mother, Vera Swift of New Castle; siblings, Steve (Phyllis) Swift, Cindy (John) Melton, Carol Hamby and Jeff (Debbie) Swift all of New Castle, Tim (Rachael) Swift of Richmond; brothers-in-law, Alan Keesling of Richmond, Mark Keesling of North Carolina, Phillip Keesling of New Lisbon; Christian brother, John Klingler of Lima, OH; several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Swift; siblings, Jeanette, Brian and Jerry Swift, sister-in-law, Karen Swift.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 at First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Danny Goddard officiating. Burial will follow in New Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Sunday, February 3rd at Hinsey- Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Cathy Keesling memorial fund, c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, 3406 S. Memorial Dr., New Castle, IN 47362.
