Cathy Kravchuk, a beloved family member and friend, left this world on January 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on October 6, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, Cathy’s laughter and warmth touched everyone. A bright spirit with a good sense of humor, she lived life generously and wholeheartedly.

Cathy was a proud graduate of Columbus West High School, class of 1967. She cultivated a successful career at respected organizations including Westinghouse, Embassy Suites, and Old Dominion Freight Line, where she impacted many with her outgoing personality and strong work ethic.

Cathy had a multitude of personal interests that made her uniquely joyful. She was an avid Buckeye football fan, always cheering passionately for her team. Chocolate was her sweet delight, and she had a particular fondness for animals, especially dogs, symbolizing her gentle nature. Additionally, Cathy found great pleasure in bowling, and was a very talented bowler.

Throughout her life, Cathy made lasting connections with those around her. She is survived by her brother Jeff (Jess) Shafer, her dear aunt Joanne Herbert, her treasured best friend Judy Davis, all residing in Columbus, and her cousin Mindy (Rob) Campbell from Richmond, Virginia. Each of them carries a piece of her legacy in their hearts.

Cathy is predeceased by her parents, Donald and Evelyn “Griffiths” Shafer, whose love and teachings undoubtedly shaped the wonderful person she became.

A memorial gathering in honor of Cathy’s life will take place on January 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Following the gathering, a memorial service will commence at 10:00 AM, allowing family and friends to reflect on and celebrate the beautifully lived life of Cathy Kravchuk. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, a beacon of love and laughter that will never fade.
