Cathy Elaine Joiner Porter, 55, passed from this life on February 25, 2026 at Lackey Hospital in Forest, MS. There are no services planned at this time.
Cathy was born on September 30, 1970 in Morton, MS to Ray and Betty Joiner. She met and married the love of her life, Charles Nolan Porter on October 1, 1984 and spend 44 loving years with him in the Harperville community. Together, they raised six children and eventually adopted two more to raise. Cathy was the type of woman who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life- sitting on her front porch, loving on her dogs, playing games on her phone, and a shopping trip to Walmart from time to time. She was a beautiful person, and her legacy continues through the lives of her children and grandchildren. Cathy was the type of person who would be honest with those she loved, even when it was a hard truth to hear. She wasn’t known for sugar coating her opinions, but you never had to wonder what she had on her mind. She delivered life lessons with grit, and the compassion that only a mom of 8 could muster. She wasn’t afraid to raise her voice if the situation called for a stern hand, but no one ever questioned her love for them.
She leaves behind her parents, Ray and Betty Joiner; her husband, Charles Nolan Porter Sr.; eight children, Ashley Hanna (Todd), Amanda, Amber, Anita, Addison, Brooklyn, Charles Jr Porter, and Justin Ray Porter (Robin.); a brother, Tommy Joiner (Olivia); 24 grandchildren; and her two dogs, Tiny and Chyanne.
Cathy’s family will miss her dearly, but her legacy of love, laughter, and grace will live on through the lives of her children and loved ones.
