Cathy J. Rockhold (nee Lutz), of Xenia, Ohio, passed away peacefully October 27, 2024 at the age of 74. She was born July 15, 1950 in Waynesville, Ohio.
Born with a green thumb, Cathy had the ability to grow just about anything. She loved painting her yard in beautiful colors with an array of flowers letting their fragrance fill the air. Cathy spent hours tending to her vegetable garden, only the best for her famous salsa. She was talented at crocheting and created many pieces over the years. But what she might be remembered for the most is her ability to talk! Cathy could spend hours on the phone, often talking to family members on their drive home. She will be forever loved and cherished by her family and friends.
Cathy was preceded in death by: father, Clarence Lutz; mother, Martha (nee McDonald) Cornett; step-father, Jesse Cornett; husband, Franklin T. "Frank" Rockhold; and son, Keith Moon.
Cathy is survived by: sons, Matthew Dakin and Andy (Herchelle) Shipman; grandchildren, Neil Moon, Micaela Moon, Adam Dakin, and Seth Shipman; brother, Ted (Linda) Lutz; sisters, Anna (Joe) Gasaway and Sonja (Mike) Ringer; numerous nieces and nephews, family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Corwin Pentecostal Church, 33 New Burlington Road, Waynesville, Ohio 45068. Funeral Service will be Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Church. Interment will follow in Miami Cemetery, Corwin, Ohio.
