Cathy enjoyed reading, traveling, celebrating holidays and spending time with her family & friends. Cathy always had a love of the water, whether being on their boat at the Jersey Shore, a beach in Aruba, or just relaxing with the kids at a family pool. She was a lifelong learner and dedicated her life to the education of Children. Cathy went on to receive her Doctorate of Education from Seton Hall University.
Cherished mother of Edward (Anne), Christopher, and Joseph (Everette). Beloved fiancé of Thomas Terranova. Treasured grandmother of Sofia, Violet, Olive, Dominick, Michael (Gina), and Gina. Beloved great-grandmother to Grace & Drew. Sister of Ronald Porto, and her beloved late brother, Gary Porto.
We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
Family will receive friends on Thursday February 29, 2024 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 am on Friday March 1, 2024, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass at St. Anne's R.C. Church 15-05 St. Anne's Street Fair Lawn. Entombment to follow at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, stjude.org/donate.

Cathy you are deeply missed. We had so many fun adventures together and so much laughter. Always felt like we were still in our 20s when were together. Rest im peace my friend. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

We got our first job together after high school in Secaucus NJ. We drove to work together-went for lunch together until the job said we had to take separate lunches . I worked the switchboard and the next day I called Cathy at her xtension and asked if she had enough of that place and at 1 pm-we both got up and walked out and quit. What a great feeling! We got another job-not together within a week.

We got together as mothers when her Eddie was born and my James were born-we were mothers!!

We always went trick or treating and Cathy being on the little short side got candy with no problem. Me being taller was told I was to old to be trick or treating -and going to the movies she always got in on child ticket-me adult-but we were best of buds and laughed about it
