PEKIN ~ Cathy Ann Trotter, 55, of Pekin, passed away at 1:28 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2024 at Carle Health Pekin Hospital.
Born on November 27, 1968 in Pekin to Gene and Gladys (Schneider) Malavolti, she married Jackie Trotter Jr. on December 3, 1995 in Groveland. He died January 22, 2014 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jeff Malavolti and Michael Malavolti.
Surviving are one daughter, Catherine JoAnn Dwyer of Texas; one sister, Linda Kober of Pekin; two brothers, Paul Malavolti and John Malavolti, both of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
Cathy worked for Caterpillar Inc. for many years. She later turned her hobby of antique collecting into a business, buying and selling antiques.
She enjoyed painting, ceramics and arts and crafts. She was learning to crochet and was very computer savvy. She also enjoyed taking her niece to BINGO at the Miller Center. She loved her family and was a wonderful aunt to her nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
