CDP Sr. Marie Dolores Griffith

Sister Marie Dolores, age 95, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. She was the first of three daughters born to Herbert J. and Isabella (Schmidt) Griffith. Sister was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marilyn Griffith Vessels and is survived by her other sister, Phyllis Griffith McElhinny and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Dolores Corinne first entered religious life with the Millvale Franciscan Sisters and later entered the Carmelite Sisters in Columbus, Ohio. Her ministries there included music and internal ministry. When that community was disbanded, Sister came to the Sisters of Divine Providence and celebrated her transfer of vows on March 25, 1995. For almost twenty years, she ministered as an administrative assistant in the Development Office at Providence Heights and volunteered her gifts in music ministry as pianist and in liturgical dance.

Visitation will be from 12-3 p.m. with a Wake Prayer Service that will be held at 3:30 p.m, on Thursday, March 26th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 27th at 3 p.m. All events will take place in Visitation Chapel of Kearns Spirituality Center, 9000 Babcock Boulevard, Allison Park, PA, 15101.
