Michael Zook was called to his Heavenly Home by his Lord whom he loved, followed, and served on October 7, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Lee Zook (formerly Debbie Nally, daughter of Hank and Ruth Nally), who deeply loved him for 49 years of marital bliss. She told him every day of his illness that everywhere she went, every breath she took, he was with her because they are One. They have two children Benjamin Michael Zook, (married to Beth, with daughters, Morgan, Maddie and Maci), and Amanda Textor (wife of Ryan Textor). His steadfast love for his children was a daily reflection of God the Father.
Mike has two sisters, Carol Ann and Susan who cherish the memories they made with their brother. His precious, devoted Dad and Mom who he made so proud, and his Father and Mother-in-law who could not have had a more perfect Son-in-law are all having fellowship with him in Heaven. He had special, fun times with 9 children that were grandchildren from his heart. Mike also had an extended group of spiritual family and friends around the world who enjoyed close fellowship with him.
Mike graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia in 1965 and from Penn State in l970 with Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering and went on to receive a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in l978. Mike served his country with pride as a retired Lt. Commander and a Vietnam Veteran.
Yet, his first love was to serve Jesus along his wife by following the Great Commission and to share the Good News that Jesus died and gave His life to all that would receive Him. He used his spiritual gifts of administration and teaching the Word to encourage the body of Christ around the world. Mike and Deborah got to enjoy 36 countries together, but Mike beat her by two, 38!
His favorite Bible promises were a testimony of his love for Jesus, Psalms 118:24 "This is the day the Lord hath made, rejoice and be glad in it" He lived a life enjoying every day Jesus gave him. His life verse was Philippians 1:6 "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus." Jesus' good work in Mike is complete and he is now praising Jesus with his glorified body with no more pain or sickness. He is now in eternal fellowship with other believers, and we all look forward to being with him forever. Mike will be missed so very much.
In lieu of flowers, we would like our dear niece, Angela Davis and her family, Andrew Davis and their four children to be blessed. Two of their children have extreme allergies that have caused disability and a lack of quality of life. Please send donations to the GiveSendGo fund for Medical Relief for Davis Kids (givesendgo.com/davismedicalrelief).
Public visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 1:00-8:00pm at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road, with Funeral Services to be held at the funeral home on Sunday, October 23 at 3:00pm.
