Cecelia Lyons

Cecelia Lyons was born on June 30, 1939, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, to Earl and Mayola Rudd. She later met William Lyons, and the two shared a loving marriage of 60 years until his passing in 2017. Together, they raised three beautiful daughters.

Cecelia lived a life filled with love, compassion, wisdom, strength, and deep devotion to her family. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her daughters and was actively involved in their schools, always volunteering and supporting their education in every way possible.

She was deeply passionate about her faith, her family, and her friends. Cecelia was a proud and devoted member of Alpha Worship Center, where she greatly cherished her church family.

Cecelia found joy in cooking, watching action movies, traveling on cruises, and especially spending time at the casino. She was also a beloved grandmother to three wonderful granddaughters who brought her immense pride and happiness.

Cecelia touched the lives of all who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered always. She leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will live on through her family and all those she inspired.

She is survived by her two daughters, Noreen Lyons and Geraldine Brooks; her son-in-law, Marcellus Brooks; her three granddaughters, Cherise Poole, Christine Brooks, and Cecelia Poole; her three sisters, Geraldine Smith, Ernestine Fisher, and Betty Rudd; her brother, Earl Rudd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Lyons, and her daughter, Valerie Lyons.
