In Loving Memory of Cecelia Valencia Perez
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Cecelia Valencia Perez, peacefully passed on to the other side on July 19, 2025, at the age of 94.
Cece was more than just the heart of our home-she was the soul of our family and a true friend to all who knew her. She led with love, compassion, and quiet strength, always guiding us through life and teaching us right from wrong. Even in difficult times, she carried herself with grace and never burdened others with her struggles.
She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, John, to whom she was married for 65 beautiful years. We like to imagine them now-maybe sitting on the golf course, sipping margaritas near the 9th hole. Or better yet, cuddled on the couch, peacefully snoring away while Dad smokes his cigar. Together, they built a lasting legacy of love, a strong family, a successful family-run business, and stories that will span generations.
Selfless to the core, Cece cared deeply for everyone around her. Her love was felt in every warm hug, every home-cooked meal, every margarita shared in laughter, and every morning trip to Dunkin' Donuts. Her words of encouragement lifted us, and her presence made everything feel right. She never asked for much-just to be included in family outings, even if only for 15–20 minutes, or to share a quick dinner before heading home. That was enough for her-just to be near the people she loved.
Cece was the cherished sister of Raymond, Jesse, Anthony, Carlos, Vidal, Pete, and John, and the beloved sister of Rita and Trinidad.
She raised five children-John Jr. (Karen), Chris (Laurie), Larry, Gina (Dan), and her beloved and most loyal golden son, Ricardo (Kym)-in a joyful home filled with laughter, learning, and unconditional love. She taught them to be independent, kind, and thoughtful-and above all, to always "do the right thing in life."
As a grandmother to John, Stephanie (Mike), Jamie (Tom), Colin, Joe, Chris, Mike (Lauren), and Gabriel (Pat)-and a great-grandmother to Justin (Emily), along with the newest little blessings, Mike and Pat-Cece found renewed joy in every moment spent with them. The way she lit up around those two little ones was a beautiful sight-her heart so full, it could brighten her entire week.
Cece was affectionately known as the "fun granny," the "crazy granny," and the "best mom." She never asked for anything for herself and gave everything she had to those she loved.
Her hearty laugh, kind and generous heart, and joyful spirit were the threads that held our family together. She was our comfort, our compass, and our greatest cheerleader.
Cece will be missed beyond words and remembered every single day. She truly was the heart and soul of our family.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th Street in Crestwood, on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the

Love you, Mommy. Gee whiz.
