Cecelia Dunn Turpin

Cecelia Dunn Turpin was born on October 22, 1960, in Tallulah, LA, to the late Jimmy Allen and Rosie Lee Dunn Jackson.

She attended school here in Tallulah where she grew up in a devoted Christian home and later had three children.

She also worked for Madison Parish School District as a paraprofessional.

She departed this life on January 7, 2026, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, John Henry Dunn (Minnie) and Leroy
Dunn (Bobbie); and four sisters, Neoma Wright, Lou Thelma Wiley, Ammie Jordan, and Barbara Wilson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Lester Turpin of Tallulah; one daughter, Darneshia Dunn of Las Vegas, NV; three sons, Devandreon Dunn of Virginia, Drukile Dunn of
Dallas, TX, and DeMario Rucker (Nicole) of Lake City, FL; three brothers, Calvin Wesley of Fort Worth, TX, Michael Whitney (Brenda) of Tallulah, LA, and Lennon Whitney, Sr., (Bernitha) of Delhi, LA; one sister, Margaret Whitney White (Anderson) of Vicksburg, MS; one sister-in-law, Bobbie Dunn of Las Vegas, NV; and host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

"Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we ought. But the spirit itself maketh intercession for us with grooming which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
