Cecelia "Ceil" A. Wohler, 93, devoted wife of the late Charles F. Wohler for 45 years, died February18, 2025 in the comfort of her home at Brookdale Assisted Living.
Born, raised, and educated in Coventry, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Matilda (Kendrick) Hynek. Predeceased by her husband, "Charlie," in 1999, she is survived by her five children and their spouses - Nancy A. McCormick and her husband William of Framingham; John C. Wohler and his wife Pandora of Niantic, CT; Marybeth H. Starrett and her husband Steven of Wilmington, NC; Cynthia J. Barnes and her husband Thomas of Southborough; and James M. Wohler and his wife Tracey of Pensacola Beach, FL - her grandchildren Diana Wohler, Alexandra Kent, and Victoria Wohler; Thomas, Matthew, Robert, and Avery Barnes; Jacqueline, Stephanie, and Nicholas Starrett; Kendra and Kristen McCormick; Sophie, Austin and Eva Croes - four great grandchildren, Destiny and Robert Figueroa, Jacob and Samuel Dolinko. She also leaves her sister Dorothy Gough and her brother Daniel Hynek. She was predeceased by her siblings Evelyn King and Stanley Hynek.
Ceil was a communicant and dedicated volunteer at St. Jeremiah's Church until its merger with St. George Catholic Church. She became a member of St. George's Tabernacle Society and the Women's Club. She thoroughly enjoyed being a Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association and Eastern Mass Women's Lacrosse Umpires Association official in women's athletics - refereeing volleyball, basketball, and her favorite -lacrosse. She also enjoyed traveling and vacationing at The Villages, FL with Charlie. She loved going to all her grandchildren's activities and going out for "breakfast dates" with each one. Family was very important to her - celebrating holidays, festivities and serving Polish foods in her home.
Ceil also found time for golf, tennis, reading, and attending classes at Framingham State University. She was always on the go - a hospital eucharistic minister, a MetroWest hospital aide, a member of the Boston Polish Business & Professional Women's Club, the Framingham Garden Club, the Sudbury Opera Lovers Organization, and her numerous coffee groups.
