Cecil McClelland Sr.

1940 - 2025

Cecil R. McClelland Sr., age 85, of Homer. Passed away on Oct. 22, 2025, at Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Marshall, Michigan under the loving care of his family and Heartland Hospice.
He was born on June 5, 1940, in Dyess, Arkansas to Everett and Lola (Cypret) McClelland. He married Sandra (Dodes) McClelland on June 28, 2003.
Cecil loved going to car shows, working on cars, and tinkering in the garage. He retired from General Motors in Lansing after 33 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friend, especially his best friend and loyal companion "Sweet Pea."
Cecil is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sandra (Dodes) McClelland; sons, Andy McClelland, James McClelland, Keith McClelland, Scott (Debbie) Dodes, Ross (Bunny) Dodes; daughters, Lorrie (Lloyd) Mosher, Natalie (Kurt Ross) Coy; sister, Kathy Henson; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Geneva Pace; daughter, Susan Tidwell; lifelong best friend, Ronald Dodes.
Cecil's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center along with Heartland Hospice for the excellent care given to Cecil.
A special appreciation goes to his dear sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Dave Chadderdon for their daily "ice cream" visits to see Cecil. He looked forward to those every day.
Cecil will be greatly missed for his charm, witty humor, and willingness to always help his friends and family.
The family will celebrate Cecil's life later this year.
