Cecile Diane Blair, age 83, of Pine Mountain, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Born on April 26, 1942, in Bismarck, North Dakota, Cecile was the daughter of Warren and Dorothy Boren Clizbe. She was raised in Salinas, California, and later attended college in San Francisco. In her early years, Cecile embraced a life of adventure, traveling across the country and abroad with her husband and family during his military career. She later settled into a long and fulfilling career as a driver in the trucking industry, where her determination and work ethic shone brightly.
Cecile was a devoted member of Community Chapel Church in Pine Mountain Valley, Georgia. Her faith and compassion were evident to all who knew her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-especially in her kitchen, where she shared her love through cooking and baking. During her children's younger years, Cecile became known for her beautifully crafted birthday cakes, a cherished tradition that made every celebration special. In later years, she became equally known for her delicious banana nut bread, which she lovingly shared with friends and family.
Cecile was preceded in death by her beloved husband of thirty-six years, Irving Oakley Blair; her parents, Warren and Dorothy Clizbe; her son-in-law, Ben Pace; and six of her siblings: Gerald, Wade, Conrad, Ernestine, Bernard, and Jon Paul.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and family through her three children: Liz Pace, Kevin Blair and his wife Sheila, and Michael Blair and his wife Donna, all residing in Pine Mountain, Georgia. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren-Samantha Owens and her husband J.R., Chris Pace and his wife Courtney, Scotty Keith and his wife Jordan, Austin Blair, Joshua Sloman, and Patrick
Blair-and a doting great-grandmother to Jacob, Sawyer, Rylie, and Alistair. She is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn and Darlene, and a dear friend (some would say "surrogate daughter"), Cindy Janney.
Cecile's kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched everyone she met. She will be remembered most for her devotion to her family, her steadfast faith, and the warmth she brought into every room.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Cecile will be held Saturday November 22 at 11:00 am.
