Cecile Lewis

Passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Mystic, CT. Born in Carthage, MO, Boo was the devoted wife of the late CDR Porter Lewis Jr. (USN, Ret.). Their 60-year love story began at age 15 at Christ Church Georgetown, where they were later married on June 11, 1960; her father Rev. John R. Anschutz officiated.
Boo shared in Porter's career across the globe before earning her M.A. in Early Childhood Development from Connecticut College in 1991. She dedicated years to the Birth to Three Program and later retired to South Chatham, MA. A woman of deep faith and hospitality, she was a cornerstone of Christ Church Episcopal in Harwich Port, known for her choir service and community gatherings.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Matt Tattersall), Madeleine, John (Krista), and Miranda (Anne); her brother, Rev. Mark S. Anschutz; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 7, at 10 a.m. at Noank Baptist Church, Noank, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Naval Academy Foundation.
