Cecilia Rodriguez, 69, of Grand Prairie passed away February 13, 2025.
Cecilia "CiCi" Rodriguez was born in Seguin, TX on December 26, 1955, the daughter of the late Soila Perez and Francisco Navarro.
Being born in Seguin, Texas CiCi was a tough lady that worked hard to teach her family the values necessary to survive. After moving to New York when her children were young, she became a CNA. CiCi was very successful in this profession as she was no stranger to hard and arduous work. Her family eventually came to settle in Grand Prairie during her children's teenage years. Helping others was always something CiCi excelled at and practiced daily. It was very important to her that she raised her children with discipline and respect. She taught them honesty, the necessity of hard work, and that life is not always full of warmth and kindness but that you must continue and do the best you possibly can with what you have at the moment. CiCi very much enjoyed reading and painting pictures for her grandchildren.
Her daughter Michelle wrote:
I am who I am because of this woman right here! She has made me a stronger person because she was so hard on me when I was younger. I learned through her that it was ok to stand alone and that quality is better than quantity. She showed me how to be a good friend and told me what a good friend to me should be. She showed me that it's better to have four quarters than one hundred pennies. She showed me that all I have is my word and to never break promises. She has always believed in me and has had my back. When I told her I wanted to go back to school she said "You've got this!". When I told her I wanted to quit my job and work for myself she said "Go for it!". When I told her I wanted to follow my husband to Mexico and get rid of basically everything I owned she told me "Follow your heart!". I learned all I know from you Ma' and I want to thank you for making me a strong woman. I believe I can accomplish what I set my mind to because of what you have shown me over the years. I love you for that! Now I am here with my two girls teaching them to be strong just like you taught me.
CiCi is survived by her children Cynthia Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez Jr and daughter in law Angie Sanchez, Rachel Rodriguez, Michelle Rodriguez and son in law Humberto Torres Vazquez and son Jessie Joe Rodriguez.
