Cedrek Catrel (CJ) Petteway, Jr. was born at 5:45 in the evening
on April 4, 1996, to Cedrek Sr. and Andrea (Precious) Petteway in
Austin, Texas. Even though he came into this world at eight (8)
months, he still weighed six (6) pounds and twelve (12) ounces.
He began his sports life before he was officially ready to attend
public school. At the age of four (4) years old, CJ, as he was
affectionately referred to, began his sports life with a little
league football team in Pflugerville, Texas. He moved from North
Zone Athletic (NZA) Little League to Pflugerville Middle School
and from there to McCallum High School football team. He was a
valuable defensive lineman and was able to play with the best of
them. However, the San Antonio Spurs Basketball team was his
favorite.
In 2014, CJ graduated from McCallum High School in Austin, Texas.
As he grew up, his father enabled him to be a fantastic cook.
Seafood was his favorite and he could literally cook and eat it
every day.
CJ was very quiet in a group of people but became totally alive
when he dealt with cousins Shawnquese (Quese) and Timisha
(Misha). When they were together, he was not the same.
This quiet giant was one who loved to make his own money. So,
he earned his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at the age of 27
years old.
Grandmothers, Barbara Ann Petteway and Christine Marie Green
preceded CJ in death.
Loved ones who will truly miss him include his parents: Cedrek
and Andrea (Precious) Petteway, Grandfathers: Ben E. Green, Sr.
and Sammie Petteway, Aunts: Kimberly (Timeric) Williams, Donna
Mitchell, Tia (Kirk) Douglas, Toi (Nick) Sinville, Uncle: Ben E.
Green, Jr. Cousins: Shawnquese (Darnell) Holmes, Timisha
Williams, Timeric Williams, Jr., Ben E. Green III, LeeAnn Green,
James Green, Ian Douglas, Aja Douglas, Rahniya Bailey, Wren
Sinville, Aspen Sinville, Braylen Holmes, Kyzah Williams.
And a host of relatives and friends.
