We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Cedric Eugene Moore, professionally known as Ric Atari-an Atlanta icon whose legacy spans music, television, film, and entrepreneurship.
A self-proclaimed genre-bender, Ric Atari was a visionary artist and multi-platinum record producer/songwriter with over 15 million records sold. His discography includes collaborations with an extraordinary range of artists: Usher, Coldplay, Drake, Avicii, Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Jill Scott, Gucci Mane, 112, Nicole Scherzinger, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Waka Flocka, Mobb Deep, and more. He co-executive produced 112's triple-platinum album Part III alongside Diddy and was credited by MTV for co-creating the genre "Trap-N-Roll."
In the film and television space, Ric served as executive producer, writer, and music supervisor for titles acquired by BET, including Couples Therapy (2015) and Hollywood Hearts (2016). He was also attached to upcoming projects with Discovery Studios, WEtv, and TVOne, and was an intricate part of developing a slate of new works including New Jack Swing, In the Key of Love, and The U.S. vs. Antoine Jones. All I Want (2011) & Keys to the City (2019).
As the founder of The Hit Catalog, Inc., Ric led a fast-growing music publishing company and secured a joint-venture deal with The Royalty Network. Known in the industry for his visionary business acumen, he was equal parts creator, innovator, and mentor.
Ric Atari passed peacefully on August 31, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy not just of sound and story-but of impact, inspiration, and endless creativity.

Ced, in the days at SMHS you were more than a friend you were like a brother to me. We had some laughs and good times. You taught me about the music as a producer even though my heart was more into playing my saxophone. I did still learn how to mix and setup equipment in college. Thanks my boi. You will be missed.
