Celia Duncan Bell

Celia Duncan Bell, 95, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Fair Oaks Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in South Beloit, Illinois.
The former Celia Duncan Hall was born on November 29, 1927, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, the daughter of Howard and Cynthis (Hyde) Hall. Celia grew up and attended school in Pontotoc. On August 19, 1946, she married Willie Bell Sr in Pontotoc. The following year they moved to Beloit, Wisconsin.
Celia obtained her certification from Blackhawk Technical College as a Certified Nurses Assistant in 1971. For most of her life she worked as an in home health care provider and housekeeper during the day, and then as a CNA at various health care facilities during the night. When not working Celia could be found at home working, cleaning or painting a room in the house that she, her husband Willie had built themselves with the assistance of her cousin. Celia was always available to help anyone in need. She took care of her parents in their older years along with many other family members and friends. Celia loved cooking and baking for her family during the holidays and when she found the time she enjoyed quietly sitting and reading a book.
Celia is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn Massey of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; son, David Jerome (Carol) Bell of Mequon, Wisconsin; granddaughters, Porscha Bell, and Jensen Wells; great-grandson, Mi'Tavius Owens; great-granddaughter, Bre'Aire Owens; brother, Harvey (Betty) Hall of Corona, California; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, David Hall, Erskine Hall, and Henry Hall; sisters, Lillian Louise Hall, Edith Thomas, Grace Hall, Gladys Weatherall, and Claudia Edwards; and a son-in-law, Lloyd Massey
Services are 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in the chapel at Floral Lawn Cemetery, 835 Dearborn Avenue, South Beloit, Illinois 61080.
