CELINA "Celine" Castro HAMADA
(b. 10 March 1950-d. 1 January 2026)
It is with great sadness that the family of CELINA "Celine" HAMADA (née Castro) announce her passing after a brief illness at the age of 75. Celine-wife, mother, grandparent, sister, aunt and friend leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Born on 10 March 1950 in Baguio City, Philippines she went to school at St. Louis University, Baguio City for her A.B. degree where she met and married her husband, Ferdinand "Nanding" Hamada Sr. in 1972.
In 1981, the Hamadas immigrated to the U.S. where she later worked in food service. She loved all sorts of creative pursuits-from cooking for friends and families, sewing and designing, music and dancing to crafting, reading and watching movies in her spare time.
Celine will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Ferdinand Hamada Sr; children, Charisse (Gutierrez), Charmaine (Sesin), Charnelle (Rivera), Ferdinand Jr.; sons-in-law Edgar, Carlos, Daniel, daughter-in-law, Bernadette (Chichioco); grandchildren, Ethan, Mia, Felix, Carolina, Sabrina, Kal, Kylie, Kaiya, Nathaniel, Olivia, Noah; siblings Greg, Alex, Ronald, Susan, Michael and Froilan; in-laws and extended family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Gerardo and Estrella, and brother, Eric.
Funeral service was held privately on 3 January 2026.
In memory of her, a Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen, New Jersey.
