Celine Rose Scholer (Kerber) ObituaryCeline Rose Scholer nee Kerber, age 96, of Chanhassen, passed away on Wednesday, February 26 at Elysian Senior Homes in Chanhassen. Celine was born in Chanhassen on March 7, 1928 to William F. and Sophia Kerber, the second youngest of 10 children.
Her family had a farm in Chanhassen where they raised milk cows, pigs, chickens and had a fruit orchard and large vegetable garden. They had plenty of food that was canned and stored in a cellar. There were always lots of kids from the neighboring farms to play with, and plenty of chores to do.
Celine grew up attending St. Hubert Church and School and has been serving the St. Hubert Community ever since. She was cherished by so many for her dedication to serve. She gave so very much and expected nothing in return. She made gravy at the Church Festival for 60 years, made dinners for Loaves and Fishes, embroidered towels and knitted blankets for sale through St. Elizabeth's circle, and helped make and serve funeral lunches.
Celine and her husband, Robert Scholer were married on May 24, 1950 at St. Hubert Church.
She worked raising her family and later started her own house cleaning business. She loved to bake and always had treats for the family and friends, and delicious treats to share with families who had illness, birthday, or special occasions.
Celine is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Scholer and Son, Dennis Scholer, her parents, and her five brothers and four sisters.
Celine is survived by her children, Sandy (Darrell) Rodenz, of Eden Prairie. John (Maggie) Scholer of St. Louis Park, Barb (Ross) Bryant of Austin, TX. Grand children, Brian (Jenna) Rodenz, Carolyn (Derek) Allmendinger, Alex (Laura) Loosen Scholer, Max Loosen Scholer, Mason and Avery Bryant. Great grandchildren, Julia, Erica, Andrew and James Rodenz, Violet and Charlotte Allmendinger, Venisa, Allen, Vincent, and Stella Loosen Scholer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Chanhassen, on Monday March 10 at 11:00 a.m. with Visitation prior at 10.00. Lunch will follow the mass. Burial will be at St. Hubert Catholic Cemetery.
