She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Imogene Stone. Charlene attended Warner Park Elementary School, Midway Middle School, and Fair Park High School. She married Preston Bruce, whom she had three children with. Charlene attended nursing school at Vo-Tech and graduated as an LPN II. She had a passion for helping others and nursing was her calling. She worked at P&S hospital until they closed. She continued her career at Doctor’s Hospital, Dubious, Elite Health Solutions, Bradenton Cancer Care in Bradenton, Florida and in home skilled nursing later in her career. Her faith was the one thing that never wavered. She was a member of Parkhurst Baptist Church and Ingleside Baptist Church growing up. She later became a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Charlene loved flowers, family and friends. Music and animals were a huge part of her life. She loved being a grandmother and was fondly called Grandma Pooh by her grandchildren. Diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia her belief in the Lord, Jesus Christ only grew stronger. She never forgot how much he brought her through, and she shared His love with others.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff, nurses, and CNA’s at Heritage Manor South for providing care, love, and support during her illness. Special thanks to Passages Hospice, their team of nurses and CNA’s. Charlene is whole again and dancing through those Golden Streets.
