Cha-Ho Wang, 93, of Woodcliff Lake NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025. He was born in Nanjing, China in 1932. Before retiring, Cha-Ho worked for the NY Transit Authority as a Civil Engineer and Squad Leader.
Cha-Ho and Chee-Hwa were married in Taiwan in 1959 and had their first child in 1960. Later that same year, in the hope of providing a better life for his family, Cha-Ho came to the US to pursue his Master's Degree at Kansas State University. In 1964 the family reunited in America, and settled in Paramus, NJ where their family grew to include three more children. His greatest pride and joy were his four children and five grandchildren. He enjoyed seeing their successes in life and their devotion to family.
His passions included freshwater fishing (he was often referred to as the "Master Fisherman"), golf, playing games with coworkers and friends like pinochle and mahjong, and spending time with family. He especially enjoyed entertaining his grandchildren as he was always the grandparent that played practical jokes and made the kids laugh. He loved to play games with his grandchildren even in his final years! His fondest memories were annual family summer vacations in Wildwood NJ. In Wildwood, he would often demonstrate his "Olympic-level" swimming and diving skills to his grandchildren. He would take the entire family out on the boat to go crabbing and teach them how to catch enough crabs for dinner for the entire week because he had a "special" bait recipe that he wouldn't share with anyone.
He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him but especially by his grandchildren, who loved him dearly and often referred to him as the "Best Grandpa Ever!"
Devoted husband of Chee-Hwa Wang. Beloved father of Robert (daughter-in-law Mary) Wang, Janet Wang, David Wang, and Alice Wang. Cherished grandfather of Jessica Wang, Michael Wang, Kristen Yee, Matthew Wang, and Jeffrey Wang.
Private services for immediate family will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

He truly was the best grandpa ever. He gave up everything to give his family a chance at having a better life. Everything he did, he did for the people he loved. He moved to the U.S. knowing little English and $200 in his pocket - I will always be amazed by the courage that took. I am so proud to be his granddaughter and will miss him a lot. He was selfless, witty, and loved his family more than anything. I am so lucky to have had 24 years with him and will forever be grateful for all the sacrifices he made and unconditional love he gave. He was the life of the party and I will miss the many laughs we had!
