Chad Thomas Davis was born on July 4th, 1973 in Deadwood, South Dakota while his family was living in Sturgis, South Dakota. In 1977, the Davis family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where Chad grew up. Chad attended Irish Elementary, Bennett Elementary, Blevins Junior High, and Poudre High School. During his school years, "Big Chad" made the most of his size playing basketball and was particularly known in the conference for making over 90% of his free throws.
After graduating from PHS in 1992, Chad earned an associate degree from Front Range Community College, and a bachelor's degree in Recreation from the University of Northern Colorado.
While living in Fort Collins, Chad worked for Fort Collins Parks and Recreation where he also coached a variety of youth sports for years. While at the Recreation Department, Chad also worked at Standard Process where his knack for numbers and details made him a remarkable asset. After Standard Process moved their business online, Chad began working for Sea to Summit. Wherever Chad worked, people fell in love with his work ethic, loyalty, and positive attitude.
Chad was a regular at the golf courses of Northern Colorado. If you walked into any clubhouse north of Denver, everyone knew who Big Chad was. Chad was also a fixture at Colorado State football and basketball games. Leaving any game before the clock said 0:00 was simply unacceptable. Family and friends enjoyed Chad's eloquent, positive, spot-on recap of every game of Facebook.
Chad was deeply loved by his family, friends, and community, and his love for them was so big it blocked the sun. He loved good natured shenanigans with his cousins. His niece and nephews were the pride of his life. He talked to his parents every day. And he loved catching games with his sister and brother. If you knew Chad, you loved him, and he made certain you knew he loved you too.
Chad completed his baptismal journey on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, and rests in God's care until the day we're all brought together again. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, integrity, simplicity, and love.
Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents Monte, Eliza, Burton, and Ottelia. He is survived by his parents Tom and Jane, his siblings Penny and Chris, brother-in-law, Steve, sister-in-law, Rachel, and his niece and nephews, Celia, Brennan, and Wil. He is also survived by the countless people he considered family, and we are all privileged to carry out the legacy he left us.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday August 23, 2024 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 2000 S. Lemay Ave., Fort Collins CO 80525.

Big Man, Bigger Heart, huge on talent, skill and caring for those he loved. I am still stunned at his passing. wish I had one more afternoon with him. He was so dedicated to whatever he was doing at the moment. Golf, hanging with friends, working. He never gave anything less than all he had. knowing him changed you because more of us should be like him. Chad, you will be missed forever.
